G.I. Jonny is coming to a town near you!

G.I. Jonny and his troops are spreading their intelligence - and raising awareness of HIV - in towns and cities across the UK.

The Terrence Higgins Trust is organising the following events throughout November and December.

NOVEMBER 2007


• 21 November



• Leeds
• Various venues across the town centre
• Join a flash mob in the bars and pubs around Leeds. 'Safer sex squaddies' will do a mass drop of G.I. Jonny goodies. There'll also be an HIV quiz.



• Glasgow
• The Arches Nightclub, Midland Street
• Free condoms and G.I. Jonny goodies at Octopussy student night.



• 23 November



• Oxford
• Oxford Brookes Student Union, Gypsy Lane
• Army-theme competitions and free G.I. Jonny goodies.



• 26 November



• Southend-on-Sea
• Mayhem Nightclub, Warrior Square
• Free G.I. Jonny goodies at MaG.I.c Monday club night.



• Bristol
• Bristol City College, College Green and Horfield Campus
• HIV workshops and presentations.



• Bristol
• Town hall
• Students are invited to listen to a presentation about HIV and STIs, and meet a person living with HIV.



• Glasgow
• University of Strathclyde Students' Association, John Anderson campus
• G.I. Jonny stall distributing G.I. Jonny goodies in the main foyer, and across outlets in the union.



• 29 November



• Liverpool
• Various venues across the town centre
• Join a flash mob in the bars and pubs around Liverpool. 'Safer sex squaddies' will do a mass drop of G.I. Jonny goodies. There'll also be an HIV quiz.



• 30 November



• Southend-on-Sea
• South East Essex College
• Free G.I. Jonny goodies from a stall in the foyer.



• Cardiff
• Cardiff University Student Union
• Military-themed G.I. Jonny event. Competition for the best G.I. in fancy dress.



• Birmingham
• Hurst Street and Broad Street
• Free postcards, condoms and goodies in the main nightclub areas of the city.



• DECEMBER 2007



• 1 December



• Glasgow
• Oakshaw Trinity Halls, Paisley (11am to 4pm)
• HIV workshops and presentations. G.I. Jonny goodies will be distributed.



• 10 and 11 December



• Brighton
• Central Sussex College, Haywards Heath campus (midday to 2pm)
• G.I. Jonny stall with uniformed staff distributing goodies.
